Discover the magic of winter in the lower Saguenay. This package was designed to create an experience filled with emotions in the heart of a winter wonderland. Enjoy a week full of exclusive activities in and around one of the most beautiful coastal villages of the Saguenay Fjord.

Day 0: Get started

Meet your guide at our store in the heart of Saguenay. Then it’s on to our first stop at the Musée du Fjord (Museum of the Fjord), to learn about the history of the region and its natural surroundings. Following our visit we’ll head to our cottage in L’Anse-St-Jean. This village nestled in a river valley and surrounded by mountains, is an outdoor lover’s paradise, sitting on the edge of the Saguenay Fjord. Its overall beauty and charm sits it firmly upon the official list of the most beautiful villages of Québec.

Day 1: Dog sledding

After a good night’s rest and a hearty breakfast we’ll take route towards the snow covered mountains to discover the world of dog sledding. Start by getting to know these lovely working dogs and the get ready to man your own sled (except for small children). The sled team of dogs will lead you through secluded trails, made specifically for this activity. Enjoy a lunch stop in a small cabin in the woods, while warming up by the cozy wood burning stove. The bond created with the dogs is good for the soul. Your guide will tell stories about the locals and their past throughout the day which will finish with a delicious supper at a local restaurant.

Day 2: The secrets of ice fishing

An early wake up, kicked off with a traditional Quebecois ``petit déjeuner’’ breakfast is the perfect way to get ready to head out onto the ice. Once on site, the guide will set you up for your first catch. After a relaxed fishing experience, including great local fishing tales, it’s back to the cottage for supper, and yes with a little luck a fresh fish feast! A fire, some stories of folklore and maybe even a song or two before you tuck in for the night.

Day 3: Snowshoeing

This memorable day will be spent snowshoeing through unique and beautiful winter backcountry. After a six hour hike through the woods you will be invited to a sublime boreal themed supper at one of the regions finest restaurants. After, it’s back to the cottage you now call home and maybe later out onto the ice to check out the ice fishing scene at night.

Day 4: Ski and Spa

A ski day with a side of pampering! With a choice of downhill or cross-country, your guide will make this day at the mountain the most for everyone. The Mount-Édouard is known for its amazing powder snow conditions and has over 30 trails for all levels of skier. Beginners, families, experts, telemark skiers, snow boarders and backcountry enthusiasts can all find what they are looking for at this ski station. The mountain is situated at 635 m of altitude and offers a wide range of activities for winter sport lovers. Once your ski day is done, it’s time to take advantage of the hill side Nordic spa, offering a variety of relaxing options. Our last supper together awaits at the cottage along with a few surprises to end our time together.
